April 24 is fast approaching and you know what that means… the release of the new Samsung Galaxy S4. Well, maybe you all didn’t know that, but now you do! The much anticipated predecessor to the Samsung Galaxy S3 has loads of promising features but many may struggle to tell the difference between the two. Let’s take a look at all the awesome features the S4 has to offer.
The Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. For those who don’t understand all that technical jargon, this 
simply means colors on the screen pop and images are clearer. It also uses less power consumption since each pixel has its own light source, which means more battery for your phone. The phone provides a powerful Li-Ion 2600 mAh but it is unclear what that means for battery life.
The 13 megapixel front-facing camera has many new features that allow you to capture the fun in multiple ways. The Dual Shot feature lets the front and rear cameras run simultaneously so you can snap images using both cameras at the same time. When using the camera, you have the ability to “listen to your photos” meaning every picture you take can come with a sound. If you would like to put together a photo from a series of pictures of any moving objects, the S4 can do it using Drama Shot. The phone has the ability to create and organize albums for you based on specific events. If you love sharing things with friends, you’ll love that you can share photos and documents wirelessly from any S4 to S4.
Samsung claims that the S4 is the “ultimate productivity device” and for good reason. The S4 gives you the ability to call a friend, answer the phone and preview e-mails without touching the phone. If you are watching a video and you happen to look away, the phone uses Smart Pause to put the video on hold so you don’t miss a second of it. When your eyes return to the screen, the video will resume. In order to keep your focus on the road while driving, Samsung introduced S Voice Drive with the Galaxy S4. In drive mode, a simpler interface makes tasks like making and answering calls or asking for directions easier. Air view permits you to accept calls or browse photos with just a simple motion of the hand. Even if you are wearing gloves, the S4 will be responsive to your touch.
The Galaxy S4 helps you focus on your health in ways that no other phone can. The S4 can track your workouts, daily intake and weight levels. You can monitor your progress with Health Board that displays your calorie intake, calories burned, weight and more. 
If all those features weren’t enough for you, there’s always an accessory to jazz up the phone even more. - AT&T: Preorder your S4 now at AT&T.com. With a two-year contract, the 16GB version costs $199.99 and the 32GB version costs $249.99 which will ship on April 30. Without the two-year contract, the phone will cost $639.99.
- Sprint: The S4 is set to launch on April 27 but Sprint is now accepting preorders. The price of the 16GB version, with a two-year contract, is $249.99. If you’re new to Sprint, the S4 costs $149.99 with a two-year contract.
- T-Mobile: Starting April 24, you can purchase the S4 on T-mobile.com. The phone will not be available in stores until May 1. T-mobile will use its “uncarrier” pricing. This means that the phone will cost you $1499.99 upfront but for the next twenty-four months, you pay T-mobile $20 a month to pay off the rest of the phone.
- Verizon: We know that Verizon will carry the S4 but they have no released any information regarding pricing or release launch.
- Other Retailers: You can find the S4 for AT&T, Sprint and T-mobile for sale at Walmart. Starting April 26, Staples will have some carrier versions of the S4 available at select mobile phone stores. You can also find the Galaxy S4 at retailers such as Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile, Costco, Radio Shack and Target.
